Oh, the joys of doggies and 2 year olds

Last night, I had to use the (*eh hem*) "sandbox" ... so, I run in to use it .... Matthew is with me, of course.

My adorable dog Quixa comes in and throws her guts up all over my bathroom floor and part of the carpet to our room. In a blink of an eye, Matthew is over there squatting, with both his hands in the throw up..... splatting it. Ugghhhh.

Quixa's throw up smelled like poo!!!

I was gagging my head off ..... it was the nastiest thing I've experienced in quite some time.

I was cleaning Matthew's hands ... and then .... GAWD ... I had to clean up that dog mess. Usually, Mike cleans up nasty things like that, but lucky for him, he was at work. :-(

I was gagging so bad, that I was half tempted to throw a towel over it and leave for Mike to get it ... but the smell was too terrible, I couldn't.

Mike is such a champ, he doesn't have that gag reflex I have. (My sister and mom are the same way. The men always have to bail us out.)

Sorry, I didn't take pictures!! :-) That would have helped your visual.

How could I be upset with this sweet face?
This dog is hysterical .... we can never go to the bathroom alone... she even sits in our tiny hallway bathroom when I give Matthew a bath.

Terri

Thanks for the note, and there is no need to post the picture because "I can see it and I can smell it" !!!

Have a fine VEGAS day !!!

I am cracking up you guys!!!!!!!

Oh, but Terri! Yes, you really should have posted pictures! Everyone who has a "live in" pet has experienced these kinds of things and those that don't have a pet need to know how we live! With the exception of the "matthew part" we have seen and done it all!

I read about this experience on your comment to another blog (now I've forgotten who) and I laughed and laughed! (sorry....but, when it's all over, it's funny!)

I was over at Queen of Mayhem's...

she was talking about how she dropped a bottle of hot pink nail polish on her tile ... and it broke all over the place...

the poor thing!! What a mess...

so it reminded me of my bathroom experience...

Hee hee!!!!!! Yes, it is funny NOW... Mike thought it was hysterical about Matthew patting his hands in it...

But how is it that dog throw up smells like it came out the other end? It is a mystery.

Mike did say that a dogs digestive tract is very simple.... hum....

Yuck. I think I might have gagged too - especially if I had seen Matthew playing in it.

In case you haven't noticed ... kids are drawn like a magnet to the grossest things.

I don't have an overactive gag reflex, but I do have a loathing of animals depositing anything in my house.

Fortunately, our dog has yet to violate my rule.

Poor little doggie. He looks embarrassed, doesn't he? :)

My cat pukes all the time! ELiza comes and tells me, "Daddy, Ramsey made a mess! A Mess!" Then she wants to help clean it up! I am thankful she doesn't play in it! We are going to try a different cat food to see if it helps!

Someone should make a "smellovision" for the Internet. It would really make this post if readers could smell it.

Of course, I'd have to avoid the post altogether ... but other people can smell it.

That was really yukky. Sounds like something one of my kids would have done.

You are a better woman than I. I definitely would have left it for hubby.

Have a great week!

Well, nice job cleaning it up, Terri. I would have left it and left the house till Dan got home. :)

Who says that parenting is not a dirty job?!

Fun stuff!

EVIL THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
Maybe it wasn't the dog that smelled like poo! (hee-hee)

So sorry......I had to go there! :)

Hey, I just had to clean cat throw up up this morning. Its gross but it could be worse, it was just dry cat food. Fortunately Eliza took the bossy big sister roll and held her arms out to guard the mess. "Stay Back, Sadie...No,no...Stay Back, Sadie."
