Sweetest Thing
Sweetest Thing, by U2 is so cute.
If I am remembering correctly, Rhythumunbroken explained to me that Bono (lead singer of U2)was in trouble with his wife. So,he wrote this song for her. I am wondering if that's her sitting down in the beginning. The music starts when Bono hits the "play" button on the boom box.
If you watch the video (and you should!), you'll see how he's trying to make up with her. Pay close attention to what is going on all around him. *giggling* According to comments on You Tube, it seems the firemen in the video are a big hit. *giggling*
It's very cute. This should make you smile.
(If I were his wife, I'd forgive him!)
*according to the YT comments... it is his wife.. and they donated the proceeds of this song to the charity she runs. He either forgot her birthday or forgot to thank her during some awards for Joshua Tree.

Thanks for giving me a *grin*!
Hi! Thanks for the mention.
Yes, that is Bono's wife sitting there all through the video. Bono forgot her birthday and wrote this song to make it up to her. This is the cleaned up version they put out on their Best of 1990-2000 CD. Before it was cleaned up, it was put on the Best of the B-Sides CD.
Here is the Demo version that was recorded and put onto Youtube with a video of adorable kittens to occupy you while you listen.

Definitely not what everyone is used to.
His wife requested that the proceeds be donated to a children's charity (I think one for the children affected by the Cherynobl incident, but I'm not 100% sure).
I love this song/video. ^_^ The dog puppet rocks.
And the firemen are hilarious. :P
Forgot his wife's birthday? Yikes. that would make me feel bad if someone forgot my birthday.

Thanks for the link.
"Bono forgot her birthday and wrote this song to make it up to her."
Not good ... always a good thing to remember the birthday and the wedding anniversary!
Have a fine VEGAS evening.
Ugh. Its Bono.....where did I leave my rusty spoon....
Just dropping by to say hi!
It is amazing how many of their songs have specific events (personal or historical) attached.
It must be nice to have all that talent to make up with your wife after you pull a bone-headed stunt ... most of us mortal men are reduced to sending flowers.
I need something to make me smile...especially this week!
I'd rather listen to Paris Hilton sing....
I should write a song and then post a video of me singing it on YouTube whenever I get in trouble with The Wife. Then she'd never get mad at me again because she'd fear that I'd do that. BRILLIANT!
