First Trip to the Hair Salon

While I was getting my hairs frosted last night, Mike brought Magoo in to get his hairs cut. Tammy usually comes to my house for this event. As you can see, Matthew was not having much fun. No, Mike was not strangling him, just trying to hold his head still so he wouldn't get nicked. Oh, and I was quite a sight with papers hanging off my head... no chance of pictures! But hey.. my hair looks good now!

Terri - it's very good to see matthew in these kinds of normal life activities. What a blessing to have him in your life and see him making such great progress.

God bless you all.

He looks about as excited about it as Junior Mayhem did the first time!

We just FINALLY had our first haircut without tears about 2 weeks ago!

Those are the kind of pictures that he will get revenge for when he gets older!

Ha ha, that's so funny.... most of my boys did the exact same thing when they got their hair cut, except for Griffin, who loved it! But I did need to do the stangle hold still, cos he squirmed so much! Precious moments eh?

Ugh, Eliza won't wear one of those shields and she insists on sitting on my lap. Once we tried to try a new place and it was like walking into a Klan meeting...we got out as fast as possible. She didn't cry last time! Sadie's one and only haircut came courtesy of Eliza!

I feel bad for chuckling, 'cause what an ordeal!! But he's so handsome with his new "do." I like the spikey hair picture :-)

6-12 months ago this would have been a mild haircut for Connor. We used to be so embarrassed with the amount of people staring at us like "control your child".

The florist from down the mall (yep that would be about 50 - 100 feet away) even came down with a lolly pop because of the commotion.

I always wondered if it was associated with how many medical procedures, blood taken, bad experiences these kids have had but it looks like it is just a normal thing ... that's always great.

We had a huge achievement last week when Connor sat in the chair by himself and didn't have any fuss at all ....

We actually got to the point of doing pretend haircuts giving connor scissors (the sharpest most dangerous ones we could find and left him unsupervised ... just kidding they were playdough scissors) with his Occupation Therapist to hopefully assist.

All is good. Love their hair when it is just cut and the product goes in so they look "just like Dad".

OH you brought back some wonderful memories of my little guy getting his hair cut. Thank you for that.

Your little man is just darling.

Tot 2 is much the same- except I have to sit in the chair and hold him down...I have more hair on me when the hairdresser is done than he does!

Wow. He's doing better than mine did on his first hair cut. It was like going to the rodeo with mine.

So I think he's doing EXCELLENT!
