Awwwww..... my little Petie did go to Heaven!!

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics
Look at this cute picture I stumbled on over at "Glitter Graphics" ...
thank you Burg for letting me know about GG's. Funny thing, this is what Petie looked like before he got his "lion shave." I sure miss my little old man...

Sorry I've been missing in action for a few days. I haven't had a chance to go run around blogging ... I feel bad!! I will try tonight ... if I don't fall asleep! Last night I was watching "Dancing with the Stars" with Casey ... I love that show!!!! I want those girls figures, I am so envious!!!! Maybe if I worked out 12 hours a day and quit eating all day long I could look like them!!

We're getting ready to start building our little cabin in Utah. We're sort of being forced to get started or we'll lose our water rights...oh well, what can ya do? It's about 8 years sooner than we planned. We're excited and nervous all at the same time. So, I've been busy on the phone w/ all kinds of people trying to get the ball rolling. Once we get the cabin started ("showing intent") ... then we can apply for another extension and spend the next five years finishing it up ourselves. Mike had wanted to build all by himself, so he's kind of bummed.

I went to a neighborhood meeting last night w/ several city officials ... I attended b/c I'm trying to get speed humps on my street where people insist on driving 90 mph. What is so sickening is that you have to have 800 speeders to qualify for humps... and "we only have around 500 speeders." Holy Cow!
It only takes one speeding car to hit and kill a child. I've been trying for two years now... I was able to get most everyone on my street to sign a petition for speed humps. The city simply doesn't listen. Unfortunately, a tragedy needs to happen first. Isn't that usually how it works?????
I lost my 11 year old brother Danny, to an impaired speeding driver when I was 14 years old ...he was on a street w/ a crossing guard to boot .... the driver was a mother of three who was on Valium....
so I have this "thing" about speeders and drivers who drink/take drugs/use cell phones in their hands when they drive a motor vehicle. We'll see if they come up w/ something...
but the truth of the matter is, if people would just obey the 25 mph speed zone in a residential neighborhood ... there would be no problem. So frustrating.

Anyhoo .... Have a great day/night/week/weekend!!!

Your welcome! I love GG..

I can't believe it takes 800 speeders to get bumps! How utterly stupid!

I love Dancing w/the Stars! Ha ha!

Hopefully the speed bumps will slow down some people with lower cars, but Ironman taught me about ten years ago that going fast over the speed bumps makes it smoother than going over them slowly and rocking back and forth. If you go quickly, you barely feel 'em.

Uuuum, should I not have admitted that to a cop's wife? :D

Trust me...
being an police offiers wife doesn't mean anything ... it sure doesn't stop the speeders... but then again ... I don't sit outside my house w/ a sign telling peeps to slow down b/c a cop lives here!!

On that thought though, maybe if they knew... they'd slow down a bit .. who knows! People are defiant.

YOU KNOW that I get plate numbers as soon as they fly by and turn in to a traffic hotline.
But I have to be outside and I usually can't get out there fast enough if I'm inside....
Now...
I'm not concerned w/ the peeps going 30 or 35 ...
I'm talking about the blatant speeders thinking it's a freeway.

Hey Terri,
We have big problems with speeders also - primarily limos from wedding chapels that are close to our neighborhood. We tried to get speed bumps and couldn't, but we were able to ban limos and cabs and we got the transportation dept. in the city to change a stop sign mid-block so that cars on our big stretch of road have to stop for a small cross-street. It's made a huge difference with speed on our street.
Good luck - I know what a nasty battle it can be.

Oh my, 800 speeders! That's ridiculous! My husband and I, with the help of our county legislator, were able to reduce the speed in front of our house from 55 to 45. What we really need to do is make it a no passing zone. I can't tell you how many times I have almost made a right turn out of my drive only to be faced with a car coming right at me. Scary stuff!

I am sorry about your brother :-(

Good for you!

They widened the highway outside our development, and we're on the crest of a hill. It's insanity trying to get out, especially on the weekends in the summer when all the touristas and their motorhomes or the drunks coming down from the mountain casinos are tearing up and down the road.

We petitioned Cdot to get a light put in. Their response? They'll do it when someone gets killed.

Well somebody got killed last summer, and they're still not gonna do it. :-(

We had a speed hump right in front of our house when I lived in Charleston, which was good because people generally used it as a race track. Or so it seemed -- and that was right in front of a school.

Red tape at it's best .... bet things are different when something happens to these decision makers own families ... if that ever were to happen

I love dancing with the stars, too. I think Joey (fat one) Fatone might kick some serious butt, if he limits his cheesy dance moves!!

I am completely obsessed with that show. In fact, one of the Russian, dark-haired dancers ( he is partnered with Leeza Gibbons) is my boyfriend. He didn't want me to come out in public and share our love, but ours is a love too special to keep private! (hee-hee)

But...let's not tell Mr. Mayhem...he gets SO jealous of Russian ballroom dancers! :)

Seriously, he is HOT!!!!
