Hard to believe it was only 2 weeks ago that the logs were delivered!
This is the front and side of cabin, dining room/living room on the right side. Kitchen is in the front and the mudroom on the left side. Front door area is in between the mudroom and kitchen.
Looking at where the door will be to the mudroom. Ramp to basement on left. Master bedroom on the left.
Ah, they put the winders in the basement already.
Looking towards the mudroom, front door area and kitchen.
The staircase will be above the window going to the basement... the master bedroom and bath is past that, along the wall.

Mudroom... the wide open space is where the front door will be. 
The location where the picture is being taken, looks like they're standing where our master bath will be ... looking towards the mudroom. The staircase is in between the mudroom and the other side of bath.

OK. what is a Mud Room? Have no idea~!
I'm with chris - what the heck is a mud room? A room made of mud or, my main guess, a room where you take off dirty boots, clean the filthy dog and suchlike?
And sidenote - I knowing nothing about log cabin construction (or ANY kind of construction!) why are there lots of gaps in the logs - not the door/window shaped gaps, but odd holes here and there?
Did Mike mess up his measurements? hehe
A mudroom is where you take off muddy boots etc... Mike will make little cubbies for shoes and coats and there will be a utility sink.
Someday, there will be a garage butted up to the mudroom.
The places w/ gaps is where a door or window will go...
Oh boy, from what I hear, there's all kinds of calculating and measuring going on.... good thing they're both good in math.
There's some kind of calculation for making stairs even. Can't remember the name of it...
