Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"New Again", by Brad Paisley and Sara Evans. The song is played to clips from the movie The Passion of the Christ, by Mel Gibson. It really makes you think about what Jesus and his mother went through.

"For God so loved the world He gave His only Son,
so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish...
but have everlasting life". John 3:16

Beaver Blog Cabin ~ Wednesday

Witch hat over the kitchen.

Using our super duper wide angle lens looking across the house.
Witch hat is done! Now, the tongue and groove! That witch hat was a lot of work for the guys. It took quite a bit of time. When Mike wasn't there, Timmy worked his bupp cheeps off by his lonesome. I swear, this guy Tim is amazing... simply amazing. We are so lucky he's in charge of building our house. Best decision we ever made.
Looking at this pic.... makes me REALLY wish we were doing that garage NOW!!!
Dang, that looks pretty!
Standing in the living room ... We are in the early stages of trying to decide IF we want Matthew's room over the living room instead of over the kitchen ~ so that everyone will be able to enjoy that awesome witch's hat from the inside! It'll make the kitchen look sooo beautiful and open .... SO ~ it's either and open living room area or an open kitchen area with a beautiful kitchen ceiling!! What to do? We have lots of time to figure it out.
Remember, these beams w/ the complicated cuts are a couple hundred pounds of wood.

I should re~name my blog to Beaver Blog Cabin!

I had to post this latest picture of the "witch's hat" ... this is over the second story, in Matthew's room. He's going to have an awesome ceiling!

This picture may look like a simple deal ... but it is not.
These 6"x12" beams are about 500 to 600 pounds each ~ and they had to calculate the cuts on each beam. They had to calculate the slope of the roof pitch as well as the angles to join to the other beams. Believe it or not ... THIS is an impressive picture.

Not much else going on here ... other than this cabin. Mike is LOVING his new position!!
Matthew is feeling better and saying more words. We see his GI doc tomorrow. We have a few specialist appointments coming up. The ECHO is the one I'm nervous about. I always get a little anxious about those.

I am finally getting into shape for summer. I have been a complete failure at getting rid of these last 15lbs from my weight gain from having Matthew ... I have been doing Weight Watchers at home and I'm beginning to make "running/walking at an incline on the treadmill" a daily activity. I am weird... I go thru spurts..... some weeks I am good... some weeks I am bad... but it has become painfully clear that I need to run/walk on my treadmill several times a week to jump start that metabolism! When you're home all day long, it's hard to keep out of the refrigerator/cabinets!! I want to be skinny for summer and I want some cute clothes!!

Hoobastank or Tom Jones ~ The Reason

Beaver Blog Cabin ~ Thursday

The roof over Matthew's room taking shape. Get ready for the next amazing picture!!
The making of the "witch's hat" ~ look how high they are! This is over Matthew's room and the kitchen area. I believe those big beams are somewhere between 500 and 600 pounds each

If you look close, you can see the beams that make the "witch's hat".

Timmy working his "chain saw magic" ~ this guy in incredible w/ the chain saw!

Look at those precision cuts on those logs! Tim is the man!!

Because of the precise cutting and complicated angles on these beams ~ each beam took an entire day.

See that little orange thing hanging on the scaffolding ~ that is what they use to hoist up a beam.

Ho Hum

Not much going on here... just the same ole same ole. Now, I'm NOT complaining about same ole same ole ... especially since I know how life can be! I'll take "same ole" anytime.

Mike is in Beaver working on the cabin. I do have a few pictures I can put up. He'll be home this Friday. He starts his new position as Sergeant this Saturday. I'm excited for him, but I'm a little nervous ~ he's not going to be in the greatest part of town. He reminds me that no part of town is really that safe, criminals are everywhere.

Matthew is doing much better ~ we had a real tough February. Thank goodness it's over!
He's starting to imitate me ~ he can say: Amie, hammer, Elmo, Nemo, earring, NO, and ba ba for robot. :-) I am thrilled.

I hope all is well with you guys. I NEED TO GET AROUND FOR A VISIT.
