I should re~name my blog to Beaver Blog Cabin!
I had to post this latest picture of the "witch's hat" ... this is over the second story, in Matthew's room. He's going to have an awesome ceiling!
This picture may look like a simple deal ... but it is not.
These 6"x12" beams are about 500 to 600 pounds each ~ and they had to calculate the cuts on each beam. They had to calculate the slope of the roof pitch as well as the angles to join to the other beams. Believe it or not ... THIS is an impressive picture.
Not much else going on here ... other than this cabin. Mike is LOVING his new position!!
Matthew is feeling better and saying more words. We see his GI doc tomorrow. We have a few specialist appointments coming up. The ECHO is the one I'm nervous about. I always get a little anxious about those.
I am finally getting into shape for summer. I have been a complete failure at getting rid of these last 15lbs from my weight gain from having Matthew ... I have been doing Weight Watchers at home and I'm beginning to make "running/walking at an incline on the treadmill" a daily activity. I am weird... I go thru spurts..... some weeks I am good... some weeks I am bad... but it has become painfully clear that I need to run/walk on my treadmill several times a week to jump start that metabolism! When you're home all day long, it's hard to keep out of the refrigerator/cabinets!! I want to be skinny for summer and I want some cute clothes!!

unfortunately, i think if you renamed it that, you'd get a whole new readership!
I am sure you can lose those pesky few pounds and then go SHOPPING for cute clothes! You can do anything you really set your mind to eh? Glad to hear Mathew is doing better now.... don't you dare change your blog name, I like Steel Magnolia for some weird reason! Though Beaver Blog Cabin would be appropriate !
Don't listen to me! If you want to change the name you go for it! Maybe I should change my blog name to 'GRUMPY TART' ???? lol
I know what you mean about the pounds. I've had about 5 extra ever since Elijah was born and I haven't taken the time to get rid of them. I have to do it before summer!
Way to get on the treadmill and take action!
The iPod really helps to keep on the treadmill....
keep ME on the treadmill
Good luck with your weight goals Terri! WW is a great program; I lost 40 lbs with them. It's very realistic and no crazy meal plans or having to buy special food. I'm here to chat if you ever need a little push :) Keep runnin' girl! I'm proud of ya!
Cool ceiling! I so hear you about losing weight, although I have a lot more than 15 to lose. It doesn't matter, losing weight is losing weight and it's not easy! Way to go!
Inspired sent me the Donkey diet. I lost 35 lbs on it several years ago. Now I need to use it again. Glad to hear Magoo is feeling better. Pray his test come back good
That looks impressive. The cabin is going to be quite a place.
Glad to hear Mike is enjoying the new position at work.
And I'll be thinking about y'all with all of Matthew's appointments coming up.
The cabin looks beautiful!
I wish you would drive to my house so that we could walk TOGETHER! I've got the 15 to lose also...but, have no urge to alter my eating habits...so, i'll have to get my bum off the couch!
Yeah for Matthew...you have to bring him over SOON!

Can't you just imagine model airplanes and rocketships hanging from those beams?
The ceiling is one of the most important parts of a child's bedroom. It's where shadows play tricks and the imagination gets started. Sometime, things go "boom, boom" in the night from there.
There I go being a kid again!
